Words Often Found Within Phishing Emails

Phishing emails are responsible for more than 85% of all cyber attacks. You may remember the last wave of ransomware (such as Petya, non-Petya, wanna cry, etc.) came exclusively from phishing emails.

If you pay attention at those emails you will notice one commonality among them, the use of certain keywords to give the email some level of urgency. Words such as  “expires”, “notification”, “cancellation”, “immediately” are the most common within phishing email messages.

The use of these type of words are designed to create a sense of urgency and we normally jump into action before thinking about it.

If you receive an email with a link and/or attachment with any of those words… think twice…

Until next Monday Malware. Be safe out there.
