After the pandemic, rather than bringing employees back to the office, many businesses, Calibre One included, have adopted a hybrid working model with staff splitting their time between the office and home.
For this reason, we are very excited about the announcement of the Microsoft Windows 11 release which is focused on collaboration and working from home. This version will be available via a free upgrade to most Windows 10 PCs, expected to be available in early 2022.
New Features to benefit working from home
The global Covid-19 Pandemic resulted in both employers and employees seeking work from home arrangements. Working from home has both its drawbacks and benefits. While there is less time spent commuting, we have found that collaboration, security, and productivity with the ability for users to easily multitask have become critically important to our own business and to our business customers and their staff.
We have noticed that many of the new features in Windows 11 are really geared towards benefiting the large portion of the workforce now working from home. The following features are a great example of this.
Here are the features we’re most excited about:
Redesigned for productivity, creativity and ease
A simplified, modern design and user experience with the Start button at the centre to make it easier to quickly find what you need. Using the power of the Cloud and Microsoft 365, Start shows you your recent files no matter what platform or device you were viewing them on earlier, even if it was iOS or Android.
The flexibility of multiple windows
Providing a powerful way to multitask, Windows 11 introduces Snap Layouts, Snap Groups and Desktops. These new features were designed to help organise your windows and optimise your screen real estate.
This allows you to create separate Desktops for each part of your life, for example work and personal creating greater productivity with less distractions.
Chat for Microsoft Teams
Windows 11 are introducing Chat for Microsoft Teams, which will now be integrated in the task bar. Now you can instantly connect through text, chat, voice or video with all of your personal contacts, anywhere, no matter the platform or device they’re on, across Windows, Android or iOS.
