With more people working remotely, it’s more critical now than ever to be connected and up to date.
Microsoft realise this, and have been hard at work optimising their systems and programs to ensure their end users have the most optimal experience possible.
A few days ago, Microsoft announced the rollout plan for Windows 10 Version 20H2, and more importantly: how you can get this version early so you can begin testing and deployment in your systems! (Which is especially important in commercial organisations).
Why Update to Windows 10 Version 20H2?
If you’re an avid reader of our blog, you know it’s important to update early to get the most up to date security patches in order to ensure that your data is secure. In addition to security concerns, Microsoft are very good at understanding the needs of their customers, so it would be of huge benefit to your business to update early and often so you can have the best environment to complete your daily tasks.

Here are some highlights we’re excited about:
- Refreshing updates from the Start menu to the Taskbar
- More secure biometric sign on.
- Stronger app protection
- Smooth Settings
See the Microsoft Blog for a detailed list of updates.
Who is Eligible for Windows 10 Version 20H2?
Some beta testers received this version back in August, and Microsoft have been hard at work implementing their feedback. If you’re not one of these beta testers, this next rollout is giving preference to Commercial Users with devices running Windows 10, version 1903 or later.
How to Request Windows 10 Version 20H2
To request this version early, open your Windows Update settings by following this path: “Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.” From there, select “Check for updates.”
If you are running Windows 10, version 1903 or later, the update should appear, and you can simply select “Download” and to install the update and get started.
Once the download is complete and the update is ready to install, Microsoft will notify you so that you can pick the right time to finish the installation and reboot your device, ensuring that the update does not disrupt your activities.
