A sign of further consolidation in the Australian ICT channel as Brisbane’s Azentro buys Adelaide’s Calibre One. The enlarged group, with combined sales of $A35m last financial year, will boast 110 staff in Queensland, South Australia and NorthernTerritory.
Azentro CEO Paul Bouris said the channel partners “realised they had to get big or get out” because organic growth alone was unsustainable, with lower margins and higher overheads driving consolidation across the sector.
Calibre One CEO Darren Gore, who will lead the combined group alongside Paul Bouris, said the merged entity is poised to grow as one of the largest Telstra partners outside of Sydney and Melbourne.
“What’s exciting is we now have the location, customers, people on the ground, infrastructure and relationships with vendors and customers to grow significant unified communications and IT managed services offerings in Queensland,” Darren Gore said.
